The current test by renowned research institute AV-TEST shows that Android users get the best protection against malware with G DATA Mobile Security Android. In the latest comparison test, the G DATA solution once again achieved top marks and detected 100 percent of the malware used.
In September 2019, independent research institute AV-TEST subjected a total of 20 security solutions for Android from various providers to a comprehensive test of their protective effectiveness against current threats. In its ongoing tests, renowned research institute AV-TEST studied only realistic test scenarios and checked the products against current threats. All of the security solutions had to demonstrate their capabilities using all of their functionality and protection levels. The applications were also tested for their performance and battery consumption.
G DATA Mobile Internet Security Android detected every malware instance, reaching a 100 percent malware detection rate and is thus above the industry average in the test field. The solution reliably discovered all 4,365 malicious Android applications used in the test. In addition, more than 1,800 clean Android applications from Google's Play Store were tested and identified as safe with no false positives.
The security app also impressed in terms of performance and battery consumption. The German IT security provider’s security solution achieved full marks and was therefore awarded the coveted AV-TEST certification.
Once again, Google Play Protect was conspicuous in this test. The test showed that the Google Play Protect in-house protection functions are not sufficient for comprehensively protecting mobile devices.
